Anyone need a tailors dummy?

Samurai, Yuna, final fantasy, x-2
At the weekend I wasn't really aware of how *much* fabric Aunt Mabel had given to me, because we packed it all into the car without sorting through it. Now having organised it at home I realise I will never ever have to buy interfacing or any kind white fabric ever again.

She also gave me a tailors dummy. I don't need one because I already have a dummy, so would anyone on my flist like it? I'm happy to send it to anyone that would like it for free, you'd just have to pay for the postage which will probably be about £10 if the average cost of shipping tailoring dummy's on ebay is acurate.

It's an old model, and the stand is a little shonky but Pete will fix that before I send it out, or alternatively give it to a charity shop. I'm pretty sure it's adjustable too.

Would anyone like it?

Sounds like a great deal, and I may be interested depending on the size of the dummy, so some measurements would be helpful!

Hey, I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested. I've given it a damn good dusting and a very light misting of febreeze.

I've editted my entry to show pictures of the dummy.

Its measurements whilst it's in its smallest position are-
width across shoulders - 15"
bust - 37"
waist - 28"
hips - 38"
It can be expanded.

I don't really know anything about size measurements but that might be too big for you? You are very slight and pixie-ish.

The original stand needs a good bit of fixing, so I would send my stand which works perfectly with the dummy, and Pete can fix up the old one when he has time. The dummy is pictured with my stand.

The dummy is in good condition considering it's age. It can be expanded at the bust, waist and hips by unscrewing the screws (highlighted in the bottom left picture by a circle and arrow) and adjusting the dummy. All the screws work perfectly, although one or two are the teeniest bit stiff, but they still work fine.

The only real problems are the that the blue covering has come unglued on some edges, but I think a bit of TLC and glue would fix it right up. Also there is a very slight tear on the right shoulder, shown in the bottom right hand picture, it's very minor though.

If you need to know anything else, let me know, it would be lovely if it went to a good home, I think Mabel got a lot of use out if it making glamourous 70s vogue dresses. :D

Thanks, but I think it's probably a bit big for me, certainly in the hips!

It's still a wonderful offer though, so if no one else is interested at all, get back to me and I'll have a think.

If Angela doesn't have it I wouldn't mind. ^^ I was going to buy one when I moved to my Nan's anyway.

I'll let you know if Angela decides against it. :D

Hey, Angela is concerned it may be too large for her in the hips. You're also very slender so maybe it will be an issue for you too. If you read my reply to Angela's original comment you can read all about the dummy's measurements etc. :D Hope this helps.
